Solidarity Collaboration And The Radical Imagination

might not be the final answer but it is a big part of achieving answers. Why do we continuly rely in systems that persistently show they do not work for us but in fact do the complete opposite? Solidarity and collaboration are the human components of old fashioned community. 
When folk care about each other a bit more. When the guy up the street was made redundant there were other people around that felt his pain, as well as caring for the old lady near-by who has had no one visit her in a week. It is not difficult to understand. Solidarity is the opposite of isolation. And isolation is all the crooks have to offer. We can make up our own mind what form our solidarity takes. If our principals are the same solidarity should be a given, wherever we can find it.
We live in a city that has never been backward in going forward, in its politics and its culture. We need to start reinvesting in working class institutions such as the celebration of May Day and the history of radicalism in the city and the people and communities that it transformed. So they can be transformed again.
We need to remove the poison of Israeli from our ears and heed the words of Arundhati Roy speaking during another poisonus episode, covid, in going forward. “We can choose to walk through it, dragging the carcasses of our prejudice and hatred, our avarice, our data banks and dead ideas, our dead rivers and smoky skies behind us. Or we can walk through lightly, with little luggage, ready to imagine another world. And ready to fight for it.”
